What a delightful surprise to get a message from Denise, who writes the charming blog My Tips and Tea, telling me she was nominating Reality Bakes for the Sunshine Blogger Award.

And just what, exactly, is the Sunshine Blogger Award? I’m so glad you asked! It’s peer recognition from the oh-so-generous community of bloggers for those blogs that are found to be “creative, positive, and inspiring, while spreading sunshine to the blogging community.” Lovely to be considered a part of such a group, and so nice to be recognized. Thank you, Denise.

As part of the Award, Denise sent me a list of questions that might help y’all get to know me a little better. And I, in turn, will pay it forward by nominating a few other bloggers that you should consider checking out and post a list of questions for them to answer.

What made you want to start a blog? I’ve always loved writing and I’ve always loved baking – seemed a natural thing to put the two together.

What do you like most about blogging? Seeing the connections between food and culture and researching food history.

What do you like least about blogging? The time it takes and not being able to do it full-time.

Describe your blog in 3 words? Fun, informative, mouthwatering.

Coffee or tea? How do you take it? Both! More of a daily coffee drinker but love a good cup of tea from time to time. Half-and-half in my coffee, sugar and milk in my tea.

Ice cream or frozen yogurt? Favorite flavor? Mint chocolate chip ice cream.

What’s your super hero name and what would your power be? Red Velvet – mindreading.

Who is someone you admire? Queen Elizabeth I.

If you were to be stranded on a desert Island what 5 things would you like to take with you? I can’t even! Seriously, this question stresses me out. All I know is that there would be books of some kind involved. And definitely some kind of knife. Oh, and a flint and some building tools. Oh, and a tarp and tent and… See what I mean?

Favorite travel destination How’s about I name a favorite place I’ve been, instead? (Because it can’t be my favorite destination if I haven’t been there yet.) Venice, Italy is the first place that comes to mind.

What is your guilty pleasure? (TV show, food etc) Reality competition shows. Love the stupid things.
